[19:55] [Darkhawk] And back. With a new phone. Because the battery in my old phone was expanding and throwing off the backcover of the phone. So I kinda' had to. Got a Xiaomi A1 MI, not just because it's the cheapest phone out there ;)

[22:36] [Darkhawk] And now I kinda' got everything to work
[22:45] [der_Tommi] Hello Darkhawk.
[22:47] [der_Tommi] You and Wheri were wondering why I haven't been doing dancing. Well, that's one of those things on my "should do more" list. In this gay ballroom dancing subculture here, that is.
[22:48] [Darkhawk] naturally, and I'd imagine there are.. opportunities such places. Of course, it would be less than forthright just to start dancing to score.
[22:48] [der_Tommi] And funny that you don't think LARPing and dancing go together. They totally went together when I was doing LARP in Finland. In a lot of the kings court type fantasy LARPs there's (was?) renaissance dancing in character.
[22:50] [Darkhawk] Yeah ok, it's just that LARPing in Denmark isn't so backwards, it was mostly social drama, political intrigue stuff, you know ADVANCED RPing. Not so much dancing there.
[22:50] [Darkhawk] But yeah, I get what you're saying, it does go well with a lot of different scenarios.
[22:50] [der_Tommi] Well, technically there's... opportunities... there, but in that particular place it *seems* to be more about the dancing and less about those opportunities. Hardly anyone seems interested in talking after the dance - instead they just rejoin their friends or get whisked away by one of them to dance some more right after the dance with me.
[22:50] [Wheri] You've just literally described a ball. Possibly a masquerade.
[22:51] [der_Tommi] Oh, those king's court LARPs are totally social and intrigue-based. But they also have dancing, because why the heck not?
[22:52] [Wheri] And I have now had some success waltzing.
[22:53] [Darkhawk] And I'm afk watching Infinity War
[22:53] [der_Tommi] I wish that at some point I'll have the time to properly learn to lead. But for that, I need a partner to learn with..
[22:55] [Wheri] They're very open here, and leading very much seems to be a thing you just learn by doing.
[23:25] [der_Tommi] Open?
[23:27] [der_Tommi] I can also try to learn by doing in this ballroom place, but that means we'll be stumbling around while everyone else is having a great smooth time. Which we could also be having if I just gave up and followed instead (which I can do much much better). :)
[23:28] Wheri ( left irc: Read error: No route to host
[23:32] Wheri ( joined #seed.
[23:33] [Wheri] Great, BSOD out of the blue.
[23:36] [Wheri] By "open" I meant people don't tend to stick to the same partners, unless they're already practically couples. Although we did manage to agree to meet up before or separately the main sessions to drill down particular moves or dances.
