[09:28] [Cyrilion] Morning
[12:14] Darkhawk (~Miranda@x1-6-48-83-c7-8e-09-12.cpe.webspeed.dk) joined #seed.
[12:14] [Darkhawk] Kinda' morning
[13:52] Tarragon (Tarragon@5ED28D04.cm-7-3c.dynamic.ziggo.nl) joined #seed.
[13:52] [Tarragon] Hello
[14:00] [Darkhawk] Hey Tarra
[15:38] [Tarragon] Hmm. Need to download more stupid tv series.
[15:39] [Tarragon] And several of them are ending this (tv season) year.
[15:42] [Tarragon] Are there any good sci-fi, crime and/or fantasy series out there I haven't watched yet? Any ideas?
[16:18] [Darkhawk] Stranger Things?
[16:18] [Darkhawk] Black Mirror?
[16:18] [Darkhawk] Absolutely The Expanse if you haven't seen it.
[17:13] [der_Tommi] The Expanse is out?
[17:14] [der_Tommi] And yes, Stranger Things is pretty good as is Black Mirror, though the latter has hardly any episodes..
[17:17] [der_Tommi] Well, I guess I'll need to watch the Expanse on Netflix now, to see if it's better than the book.
[19:26] [Darkhawk] The Expanse has been out for a long time, if you mean season 1. Season 2 will begin airing in February :)
[19:41] [Tarragon] I already watch Stranger Things, but I'll check out the other two. Are they short seasons as well? I'd like some series with traditionally long seasons too.
[19:45] [Darkhawk] Yeah, they're short. Not sure I think there are longer quality series available. They tend to degenerate into one-theme-a-week things, instead of having a tight story, which is often what makes a series good. Or, I don't really watch that kind of series anymore... Too crappy imo.
[19:45] [Darkhawk] But, with that said, maybe.. Ehr.. The 100?
[19:46] [Darkhawk] Lots of episodes and seasons.
[19:46] [Tarragon] They don't have to be super quality, just entertaining, like Bones, f.e.
[19:46] [Darkhawk] Oh right, maybe Wayward Pines too. Not so many episodes, but two seasons.
[19:46] [Tarragon] Of course good quality is nice as well.
[19:46] [Tarragon] But sometimes it's also about volume available.
[19:47] [Tarragon] As long as there aren't any aggravating baity almost-couples that then never happen. That just makes me rage.
[19:56] [Darkhawk] lots of things make me rage in those standard series of all kinds.. I don't have the time for them anymore, nor the need to remove my brain and just relax on autopilot while watching them.
[19:56] [Darkhawk] Not saying you have that need ;)
[19:56] [Tarragon] Sure I do. Watching stuff without having to think is great!
[19:56] [Darkhawk] eeew
[19:57] [Darkhawk] Not that exhausted with life yet ;)
[19:57] [Darkhawk] Then again I did watch 19 seasons of Star Gate once...
[19:58] [Tarragon] It's especially good when ill or depressed. You know, when you can't even read books (and if *I* can't, you can be sure I'm on the level of not even getting out of bed all day).
[19:58] [Darkhawk] Oh right, for sci-fi series that have lots of episodes, I'd recommend everything Star Trek before ST: Enterprise.
[19:58] [Darkhawk] Maybe not the Original Series unless you're already a fan ;)
[19:58] [Tarragon] Why on earth would anyone watch 19 seasons of bloody Star Gate.... Ok, then I'd have just died first. Just so you know.
[19:58] [Tarragon] I've already watched everything Star Trek, including Enterprise. Surprise!
[19:59] [Darkhawk] Yes, I know, and I've been there, where everything else but watching a series took too much effort. Sometimes you do end up feeling rather empty inside afterwards, like you wasted some of your life doing it.. Like with Star Gate...
[19:59] [Tarragon] I lied, I haven't watched any of the "modern" films.
[19:59] [Darkhawk] Damn, you eat series for breakfast ;)
[20:00] [Tarragon] What can I say, there are people out there with better mental health :D
[20:00] [Darkhawk] That's ok, they suck if you like the older stuff. It's all Hollywood action without the charm or humanism of the older ones.
[20:00] [Darkhawk] Anything specifically wrong with your mental health these days?
[20:01] [Darkhawk] Maybe 12 Monkeys, the series, would be watchable for you as well.
[20:01] [Tarragon] Yes. But that's ok. I'm not actually watching that much in the way of series because I'm still capable of gaming! (yay!), but the reading isn't going so hot. It's down to some very specific stuff that I'm already into and I'm unable to even finish any completely new (as in new writer/series) books.
[20:02] [Tarragon] I dunno, 12 monkeys the film made me kinda depressed.
[20:02] [Darkhawk] hehe, the series isn't as deep.
[20:02] [Tarragon] The film wasn't that deep, just depressing.
[20:02] [Tarragon] Like reading Tess of the d'Urbervilles.
[20:02] [Darkhawk] But yeah ok. Also, The Man in the High Castle maybe
[20:02] [Darkhawk] Well, the series is less deep ;)
[20:03] [Tarragon] I'm... errr... just going to check out Vikings over here... *cough*
[20:03] [Darkhawk] Can't fault you for liking the males there...
[20:03] [Darkhawk] If that's it ;)
[20:03] [Tarragon] I like the hair anyway.
[20:03] [Darkhawk] yup
[20:03] [Tarragon] I'd like the males more if they had more guy/guy action!
[20:04] [Tarragon] Bane of my life, straight TV series.
[20:04] [Darkhawk] Yeah.. Keep dreaming.. But will probably happen in some series at some point. Can't be sure there will be both hair and guy/guy though
[20:04] [Tarragon] Well, not in *this* America!
[20:05] [Tarragon] Now I'll have to wait another 8 years at least, ffs (and you know it's gonna be 8)
[20:05] [Tarragon] Unless the UK gets its head out of its arse.
[20:05] [Darkhawk] Let's see what will happen, he's already busy doubling down on all he promised that made the stupid people vote for him. Maybe it's not gonna be THAT bad.. Eheh.. Maybe.
[20:05] [Tarragon] Dutch series are shit.
[20:05] [Tarragon] Just so you know.
[20:06] [Darkhawk] I kinda' expected it. I hear Danish criminal series are super hot internationally though, might want to check out those if you like boring criminal stuff ;)
[20:06] [Tarragon] I watch the Danish/Swedish Bridge thing.
[20:06] [Darkhawk] Yeah, that's one.
[20:06] [Tarragon] But we've only done season 1 so far.
[20:07] [Tarragon] They get points for having an autistic char that is both disabled and not useless!
[20:07] [Tarragon] And a woman, halleluja.
[20:08] [Tarragon] Hmm... a Fargo series...
[20:08] [Darkhawk] So why not finish the Bridge?
[20:09] [Tarragon] It's too much work. I only watch it when I'm functioning around 100%
[20:09] [Tarragon] It has that super European thing going on that alwasy makes things harder work to watch.
[20:09] [Darkhawk] ok right, makes sense. I'm afraid most of what I suggested is too much work right now then. Except The 100 ;)
[20:10] [Tarragon] When most entertainment is work, you know you're fucked up :D
[20:10] [Darkhawk] oh yeah... But once you get going with a shallow series, it's easy to keep going at least, when in that mood.
[20:11] [Tarragon] Also when you're ill and you just can't keep upright to game.
[20:11] [Tarragon] Ok, compiling an e-mail with all the names of series I want to try. No time tonight to try and download them anyway.
[20:11] [Darkhawk] yes, though at times you can be so ill that even that is impossible. That's when it's really sucky being ill
[20:12] [Tarragon] Usually then I just take 2 paracetamol and fall asleep.
[20:13] [Darkhawk] Lucky you
[20:14] [Darkhawk] hrm, need to restart, my explorer keeps crashing when I try to open any file...

[20:20] [Darkhawk] hrm
[20:23] [Tarragon] This Fargo series looks really promising. Anyway, off now. Night everyone.
[20:23] Tarragon (Tarragon@5ED28D04.cm-7-3c.dynamic.ziggo.nl) left irc: Quit: I shouldn't go, but you're wrenching, dragging, shaking me
[22:34] Cyrilion (~Cyrilion@ip185-125-221-115.ip.asom-net.dk) left irc: Quit: Leaving
[22:45] [der_Tommi] A bit dumb to comment when she's gone but... Why did she think Trump could stop Hollywood from including gay characters?
