[00:00] [Mehken] It did seem fairly stable. Constantly new players coming in and subscribing. Also, I think the switch to F2P has more to do with the success of that move for DDO and they're suddenly seeing $ signs everywhere
[00:00] [Darkhawk] Was there any statistics about new players coming in and player retention?
[00:01] [Mehken] They've never released anything of the kind
[00:01] [Mehken] Not after the first launch, not now
[00:01] [Darkhawk] Nah, so it's just speculation either way
[00:01] [Mehken] It is
[00:01] [Darkhawk] Though I heard they stabilized around 200.000
[00:02] [Darkhawk] No idea how many of those were lifetimers
[00:02] [Mehken] Still guesswork by market analysts
[00:03] [Mehken] Anyways... Whether they had to do this or just want to, they are expecting an increase in players and revenue. Whether that holds true....
[00:04] [Darkhawk] yeah, we'll see. Will probably happen. Just wondering how it'll affect the game and future content.
[00:06] [Mehken] They did hint at some new instances in the works in a recent dev chat. (Not that it should surprise anyone that they're working on more group content....)
[00:08] [Darkhawk] I can see my kinship is only 4/6 through BG after all these months, trying 1-2 times each week. Must be hard.
[00:09] [Mehken] Heh.. I haven't even been in there
[00:10] [Mehken] We've only just begun DN in our little raid alliance :p
[00:12] [Darkhawk] Right, that was the raid that has been scaled up to lvl 65?
[00:13] [Darkhawk] I'm pleased I got through that before taking this pause, was a nice achievement back then before the expansion.
[00:14] [Mehken] No raid except Helegrod is to be scaled currently
[00:14] [Mehken] Dar Narbugud is still level 60
[00:16] [Darkhawk] Ah ok
[00:22] [Mehken] Finished Mafia II today, by the way.
[00:23] [Mehken] I want a Mafia III
[00:32] [Darkhawk] Yeah well, looking at how the industry works, you'll get a Mafia X if they all sell well enough ;)
[00:33] [Mehken] Well.... if they have the same delay between versions as between I and II ....
[00:33] [Mehken] I might not be around for it
[00:34] [Darkhawk] hehe
[00:34] [Mehken] First Mafia game is from 2002

[10:49] [Nuala] working with an hangover is not nice...
[11:03] [Darkhawk] Not so hard remembering that fact you know ;)
[11:13] [Nuala] I know, but j=kinda forgot it yesterday
[11:18] [Darkhawk] Yeah.. It happens.. I've done the same. But usually no more than once a week!
[11:18] [Darkhawk] Anyway, off here.

[20:03] [Darkhawk] Heya
[20:03] [Darkhawk] .. I've caught a cold.. Not out boozing.. And now I have to speed heal before leaving for Rome on monday :(
[20:03] [Mehken] Hey DnD
[23:14] [Dustman] night all (yes, work, conference next week, must prepare presentation...)
[23:17] Dustman (~Dustman@catv-80-99-121-251.catv.broadband.hu) left irc: Quit: Leaving.
[23:52] [Norah] If you had hayfever meds the worst of your cold would be over by Monday (probably later on Sunday) and you'd be fine on Wednesday.
[23:52] [Norah] For some reason they seem to work on the cold.
[23:52] [Darkhawk] But do I have hayfever meds, HUH?
[23:52] [Norah] I dunno.
[23:52] [Darkhawk] I don't :(
[23:52] [Darkhawk] I do have tea though
[23:53] [Norah] Hmm.
[23:53] [Darkhawk] mhrm
[23:53] [Norah] I know of lots of types of teas that help with stuff, but not with cold.
[23:54] [Norah] Mostly with heart and bloodvessel stuff, some headaches.
[23:55] [Darkhawk] not much helps with cold unfortunately. Rest, no exertion, healthy food, fruit and keeping warm.
[23:55] [Darkhawk] But no such thing as a Cure Disease spell unfortunately
[23:56] [Norah] Fever inhibitors so you can actually get the sleep you need. Yay for modern medicine.
[23:57] [Norah] We bought thyme syrup once when we had colds that also caused a sore throat. It was quite delicious but it didn't do anything much.
[23:57] [Darkhawk] Yeah, but you also need to let the fever run its course to get healthy. It's not a good idea to block it. Besides, I sleep well enough with fever.
[23:58] [Norah] Then I got hayfever and discovered I now rarely got (or noticed, anyway) the cold, and when I got it it lasted half as long as it used to.
[23:59] [Norah] It's fine to block the fever. It doesn't stop the process of what you're body's doing, just the excess heat byproduct, which can bea great hindrance.
